Flat Roof Solar Mounting Systems
Solar arrays for commercial flat roof structures offer an attractive return on investment for the building owner. At the same time, it presents many design challenges for the system integrator. Minimizing load on the roof, eliminating roof penetrations and not interfering with the roof drainage system are critical considerations for the system designer to avoid costly building and roof maintenance in the future. To achieve all of these requirements, the critical component in commercial flat-roof solar PV systems is the solar mounting system.
Conergy has more than 12 years experience as a commercial building photovoltaic system integrator and distributor of commercial flat-roof solar mounting systems. Conergy has in house PV design and engineering capabilities to assist facility managers and solar integrators with system evaluation, procurement and logistics. In Ontario, Conergy provides FIT compliant solutions.
Conergy SolarFamulus Air
Many commercial flat roofs do not have the structural strength to support PV installations with conventional mounting systems. The SolarFamulus Air is a light weight, non-penetrating PV mounting system designed for use on such weight-limited commercial flat roofs. The SolarFamulus Air uses aerodynamic forces to minimize ballast requirements; it weighs less than comparable mounting systems and can be installed on a wider range of roofs. The SolarFamulus Air offers the following features:
-
Flexible system design - With the Conergy SolarFamulus Air, multiple rows of modules can be connected to each other in an interlinked array of at least 10 m² and can be arranged in various configurations. The Conergy SolarFamulus Air has a standard pitch of 15°, which allows for minimal ballast requirements.
-
Rapid installation and streamlined logistics - All components are designed for easy installation, involving only 5 steps and 6 components. The established Conergy Quickstone Technology, pre-assembly and innovative product design with a low overall parts count all add up to minimal installation time and the need for very few tools. Stackable rail profiles minimize shipping volume, lowering shipping and storage costs and creating ease of material handling on site.
-
Static reliability - For every project, Conergy’s Engineering team can help develop a certified ballast plan. Through extensive aerodynamic testing during the development phase, the Conergy SolarFamulus Air is statically verified despite minimal ballasting.
-
Maximum service life - All components are made of either aluminum or stainless steel. Their high resistance to corrosion guarantees maximum service life and full recyclability.
